The Big 3-0

Happy Birthday to Andrew! We celebrated last weekend and it was a milestone: his 30th! Well, sort of. In Asia everyone is one year older than in the Western world because they count a person's age starting from age one on the day they're born. So Andrew was born in 1981 but turned 30 this year. I wrote Happy Birthday in Hangul (the Korean script) on Andrew's carrot cake and we all wished him "Saeng-il Chooka Hamnida!" literally translated to "Birthday Congratulations!" His birthday party was decidedly American though: Miller Lites and a heartfelt singing of "God Bless the U.S.A." What else would you expect?
